JAVIER ERRECONDO
Javier Errecondo received a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1985 and he served as a foreign associate in the New York office of Shearman & Sterling from 1988 to 1992. That same year he joined Bruchou where he was named partner in 1995. In 2004 he co-founded EGFA Abogados and in 2016 he moved to New York City to continue his professional practice from thatcity. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and in City of Buenos Aires.
Javier Errecondo specializes in banking and capital markets, sovereign and corporate debt restructuring, purchase and sale of stock packages and structuring of investment vehicles. He has more than 30 years of experience representing companies, financial entities, private equity and hedge fund managers, and high-net worth individuals and entrepreneurs in highly complex local or international transactions.
He has been consistently recognized as one of the best Argentine lawyers in banking and capital markets by all the leading local and international legal publications over the past two decades. In recent years he has represented the vast majority of international financial entities, including multilateral banks and governmental agencies, in debt and equity operations for their sovereign and corporate clients.
In 2016 he acted for the Republic of Argentina in connection with the international offering of more than U$S16 billion of bonds completed in April 2016 to resolve the conflict with the holdout bondholders.
Javier Errecondo had an active involvement in the drafting of the “Ley de Financiamiento Productivo” enacted by the National Congress in May 2018 to update the legal framework applicable to the capital markets and its products, as well as the regulatory and contractual framework applicable to the Contracts of Public-Private Participation (PPP) and its financings.
